Love, Passion and the Art of Romance

I think I paint for that moment of collision between observation, imagination and emotion.  It is my favorite expression of the things I love most about life.  It is a celebration of nature, of color, and sensory experience.  A celebration of the wonderful ways that experience can play on our deeper selves and result in the act of creativity.  For me, painting is the meeting place between the beautifully real and our imagination.  Some call my style ‘magic realism’; I do myself, quite often.  I see this as the expression of the emotion and imaginative meaning that permeates our relationship with the ‘real’ or the sensory.
