The themes of my paintings come out of my experience as a psychiatrist, from dream analysis for instance, but also from my social and political convictions, as well as from memories of my baroque-catholic upbringing in Europe, the fairytales of my childhood, mythology, and the cultural experience of a European in America. The strongest experience on my taste in art comes from the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism, and from Paul Klee.
I like to tell stories with my paintings which often turn out to be whimsical, comical, and even make people chuckle and feel that life may not be so bad after all.
