Jeff Daniel Grundmann Pisces Moon Studios Mr. Grundmann is the resident artist at a la carte. His studio, Pisces Moon Studios, is located directly behind the gallery. In fact, it is typically the food and wine area for our opening receptions as well as additional art space. His glass creations include all glass techniques in a variety of forms. From a main thrust toward fusing techniques in his P-Moon clocks and other decorative items to his life castings of bodies using a variation of the pate-de-verre technique, Jeff is constantly mixing methods to achieve the results that he desires. This often requires creating his own parts and pieces by using hot glass (blowing and lampworking) techniques. Jeff's newest movement is into glass wall art pieces with clean lines in a minimalist, mid century modern (dare we say art deco?) styling. His choices of color and shape are rhythmic and playful, musical and mathematical, and (like our curator, Barbara) are both thought provoking and fun to be with at the same time. He brought out a small example of this new work for the "Spirit of the Holidays" show, but is keeping the rest of his new work secret until the one man show that opens September 16, 2005.
This new show, entitled "Two Sides of a Glass Artist - the current work of Jeff Daniel Grundmann", will feature a gallery split in two. One side will be the representational sculptural work for which Jeff is known to many. He promises several new sculptures for this show that will reflect the freedom he feels in working with his new stand and mounting friend, Philip Ginn . We will make images available on this site as soon as we get them. The other side will be representing his new contemporary body of work as described above. This show promises to be an interesting journey into the mind and heart of this glass artist.

Jeff is sharing some of his new work with us at the ART OF GLASS exhibition currently running. Below are images of some of the new paperweights created for this show.
Licorice Swirl paperweights Each one an individual work of art. Because of the free-flowing nature of this technique, no two paperweights will be alike. They measure approximately 2 1/4" in diameter.
A new batch of Clear Paperweights w/ Bubbles are in. Always a favorite, we do not anticipate them being around for long.
